Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to Squad Sessions?

To ensure your child gets the most from their session, we recommend you bring;

  • Swimming costume
  • Towel
  • Dry, warm clothing to change into
  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen (As sessions may run from the outdoor pool)
  • Goggles
  • Swimming Cap
  • Gear Bag (Flippers, kickboard, pull buoy, hand paddles or any other equipment reccomended specifically to your child)
How do I gain access to my session?
All students will be issued with a membership card for Squad Sessions. Parents will be provided with member cards that provide free access for 2 adult non-swimmer spectators. Any additional spectators will be required to pay for spectator entry. Simply swipe the cards at the turnstiles to go through to your session. If you forget your cards, or need assistance with a pram, wheelchair, or for any other reason, please see reception.
How early should I be for sessions?
We recommend you arrive 15 minutes early for your session, to reduce delays at reception and ensure your child is prepared and ready to train.
My child is not well; can they still come to their squad session?
We do not recommend children attend sessions if they are unwell, as this reduces their focus and can increase fatigue. Children must not attend sessions if they are suffering from;
  • Any contagious disease e.g. conjunctivitis, rubella.
  • Flu, fever, head cold, runny nose, sore throats, and cold sores.
  • Vomiting, diarrhoea, ringworm, head lice, urinary tract infections.
Can my child swim after their session?

Yes, your child is welcome to continue to swim after their session.

When do I know when my child is ready to move up a level?

Every squad level has set criteria which must be achieved in order for the swimmer to progress.

If you have any questions regarding your child's progress, please ask your coach.
