Update: Temporary closure of St Marys Indoor Pool

The Ripples St Marys indoor pool is currently closed due to an unexpected failure of the water maintenance systems.

All efforts have been made to complete the works in a timely fashion, however, due to lead times for the manufacture of replacement parts and the specialist work required to carry out these repairs the closure will continue through to the end of May. We will continue to provide updates as our timeline progresses.

To continue all our programs as we move into cooler weather, we will be implementing some changes to our operations and opening hours starting from Monday 8 April;

  • The Hydrotherapy Centre will be open extended hours – 9pm weekdays and 6pm weekends. This will include closed sessions between 3:30pm to 7:00pm weekdays and 8:00am to 1:00pm weekends to facilitate Learn to Swim programs and internal Exercise Physiology appointments.
  • Ripples Penrith will remain open between 5:30am to 12:30pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 1:00pm weekends.
  • Ripples St Marys outdoor pool will remain open until the indoor pool reopens.
  • Healthy Me members will be able to join our Aqua classes – they are great classes for all abilities, just like our Healthy Me classes, with the opportunity for each member to adjust their own intensity.
  • T2 Diabetes classes will be modified to include an additional land-based session on an updated timetable.
  • Squads will return to St Marys on Monday 8 April on their normal timetable, running from the outdoor pool.
  • Evening Aqua classes will move to the Hydrotherapy Centre, starting from 15 April. The morning classes will continue from the outdoor pool.

Our Squads swimmers and Learn to Swim students will be contacted via email with more information about how these programs will operate as we move into the cooler months. Please ensure your contact details are correct on your Online Member Portal to make sure you don’t miss these emails.

Members on a direct debit or upfront membership have the option to place their account on hold during the closure period. This can be done via the Online Member Portal.

To suspend your membership;

  1. Log into your member portal
  2. Locate the membership you would like to freeze - this appears underneath your profile picture
  3. Hover over the membership and three dots will appear in the top right corner
  4. Click on the three dots and click 'freeze'
  5. Enter your membership freeze details and click submit

Alternatively, members on a direct debit membership have the option to cancel their membership and rejoin once the pool has reopened.

We have also taken the opportunity to expedite some projects we had planned for the next 12 months and schedule them to be completed during the current indoor pool closure. These projects will provide shorter downtimes for pool contaminations and improve maintenance timeframes.
